Event date:
Saturday, November 18, 2017 - 10:30am to 11:15am

Our Stories for Free Children Story Hour is back and we are so honored to have community member and children's advocate (and Charis Circle Executive Director E.R. Anderson's mother!)  Betty Wood, in the house to share some of her favorite stories. Children of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents. Join us the 3rd Saturday of every month as we invite local children's book authors and community members to read their favorite stories for free children. This is a Charis Circle Strong Families Whole Children Program. The suggested donation is $5 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

About Betty:

Betty R. Wood, M.S. established her private practice in 1989 working with families whose children were experiencing learning difficulties in public and private schools in the Atlanta area.  As she worked with the families, many parents sought her services to assist them in creating more effective coping skills in their lives as well.

In 2001 Betty began working part time in cooperative preschools in the Atlanta area that offer parents and teachers the opportunity to work together in providing an enriched early educational experience for children, while maintaining a private practice in the afternoon and evenings.  Over time and increased awareness of the personal needs of her clients, Betty Wood changed the focus of her practice from clinical treatment to the prevention of pathology in children and adults through personal coaching and educational consultation. She is currently the director of the Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool
