Atlanta Pride is coming to Piedmont Park Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday Oct. 15th. Charis will be supporting the Family Fun Zone throughout the weekend and we would love to see you there! We will be taking our QT Games for queer, trans, and questioning teens on the road to the park and will be joined by Transparent Atlanta in supporting a family hang out space for younger children as well. Our booth will be focusing exclusively on queer and trans books for kids, teens, parents, educators, and families. The Family Fun Zone will be located in the meadow where Park Tavern is located near the Charles Allen entrance to the park. We will be near bathrooms and will be a great place for you to meet up with friends throughout the weekend!
This year we need two different kinds of volunteers and we would love for you to join us for either one that suits you. The first volunteer need is for bookish folks who would like to help at our book table, sharing resources with community members and handing out Charis bookmarks and fliers. If you would like to volunteer for that job, there are many shifts available.
You can choose whether you would like to work more with teens or younger kids. If you are a parent or grandparent you are welcome to bring your own kids while volunteering.
If you have questions about volunteering for the Charis Book Table, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have questions about volunteering for games, please email email@example.com.
