Arcane Arcade: Games by Kara Stone

Charis and Dear Games are proud to present ARCANE ARCADE, a curated collection of games from digital artist Kara Stone ( We’ll be playing through the games as well as talking live with Kara over Skype about the process and theory behind her game design. A catalogue exploring the themes of Stone’s work will be available for players, along with a collection of zines offering reviews and critiques of other indie game titles, provided by students in the Computational Media and Literature/Media/Communcations departments at Georgia Tech. This is a Charis Circle Founding the Future of Feminism event, and the suggested donation is $5.


Kara Stone ( is an artist and scholar interested in the affective and gendered experiences of mental illness and healing as it relates to art production, videogames, and traditional crafting. Her artwork has been featured in The Atlantic, Wired, and Vice. She is a member of the Different Games Collective and not-for-profit Dames Making Games. She holds an MA from York University in Communication and Culture and is currently a PhD student in Film and Digital Media with a designated emphasis in Feminist Studies at University of California at Santa Cruz.
