In Somebody Else's Blood is book about love. The poems explore the ways love binds and shapes us. It is about remaining in or getting back to that place where your first love is self-love, where the most important heart you explore is your own, where the comfort of somebody else's blood is secondary to the confidence of your tenderness. This book is life in rhythm and lyrics. It is learning and progressing. It is understanding that poetry is a necessity and knowing that tears do not compromise strength, sadness does not defeat saving, and words have the power to transform. This book is about growing through, getting lost in and healing from being In Somebody Else's Blood.
