Vicious Women: A Film by Jennifer Hall Lee

Event date:
Wednesday, October 18, 2017 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm

Jennifer Hall Lee will be showing clips from her new film Vicious Women, which will be completed in spring of 2018. This documentary film is about an Atlanta lesbian couple named Teri and Iris who have been together for 40 years. Teri, Iris and many of their neighbors fought to save a green space in their neighborhood that was also the home of a historic pecan tree named Granmaw Gordon. The fight lasted years and the site passed through the ownership of 7 real estate developers, one of whom referred to the women of the neighborhood as vicious!

Vicious Women is a timely film that looks at Teri and Iris' lives through decades of their social activism including current environmental fights to save our planet. The struggle to make our world a better place is never-ending. Even though powerful destructive forces can challenge the power of the people, ultimately the people have the power.

Come look at film clips of Vicious Women. After the presentation Jennifer will take questions from the audience about the pressing need for this film in our current political situation.  Join us.

This is a Charis Circle Founding the Future of Feminism Event. The suggested donation is $5.
