Cliterati Open No Mic Featuring Danielle Hanson

Charis and Cliterati pair up to present an inviting and fierce open mic & reading series on the 3rd Thursday of every month. This month's featured poet is Danielle Hanson, author of Ambushing Water. Danielle Hanson received her MFA from Arizona State University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  She is currently poetry editor for Doubleback Books and associate editor for Loose Change Magazine, formerly poetry editor of Hayden’s Ferry Review and formerly managing editor/assistant editor of Carriage House Review.  Her work has appeared in over 50 journals and anthologies, including Iodine Poetry Journal, Rosebud, The Cortland Review, Willow Springs, Roanoke Review, Poet Lore, Asheville Poetry Review, and Blackbird.  Her poetry has appeared in several anthologies, including the Poets Against the War Anthology, Beauty First: The Peacock Journal Anthology, and The Heart's Many Doors.  She has been on staff at The Meacham Writers’ Conference and received the Fulton County Arts Council Grant for a residency at the Hambidge Center.  She was nominated for two Pushcart Prizes in 2008 and 2016, and Best of the Net in 2011.  She is the 2016 recipient of the Vi Gale Award from Hubbub Magazine.This is a Charis Circle From Margin to Center Literary Event.
