It's that time of year again when your favorite feminists get jolly and open our doors for a full day of food, free gift wrapping, and tons of great savings!
Start: 19:30
End: 21:00
Join us for a very special evening honoring the release of the first book-length scholarly consideration of Pearl Cleage's body of work. For this evening's program the volume's editors, Tikenya Foster-Singletary and Aisha Francis will be on hand to discuss the work as will Pearl Cleage herself.
While
academically critical, the essays mirror Cleage's own philosophical
commitment to theoretical transparency and translation. The book
includes an in-depth interview with the author and a foreword by former
Cleage student and acclaimed novelist Tayari Jones in addition to essays
from contributors representing an interdisciplinary cross-section of
academic fields.
This event is a Charis Circle From Margin to Center Literary Program and the suggested donation is $5.
