About the Author

El Kilombo Intergalactico: El Kilombo Intergaláctico is a group dedicated to bringing together people from student, migrant, low-income, and people of color communities to tackle the challenges faced in Durham, NC. They believe politics is an everyday practice of making and re-making one's own life on one's own terms, rather than appealing to an outside force for concessions to better their lives. They therefore make decisions democratically in a community assembly and work cooperatively to build concrete solutions that meet their needs regarding health, work, housing, food, learning, and more.
